Refund Policy

Last updated: [DATE — to be set on legal review and publication]

Scope of this policy

Beacon Coders provides custom software development, web development, mobile app development, AI development and digital marketing services to business clients (B2B), not consumer products purchased off the shelf. Refund terms are therefore primarily governed by the specific contract signed for each engagement; this page describes our general approach, consistent with the pricing structure described elsewhere on this site.

Discovery fees

Where a paid discovery engagement is conducted, the fee is non-refundable once the discovery work has been delivered, but is credited in full against the project cost if you proceed to a build engagement with us, as described on our pricing page. If discovery work has not yet been delivered and you cancel before it begins, [REFUND TERMS FOR THIS SCENARIO TO BE CONFIRMED WITH LEGAL COUNSEL AND STATED CONSISTENTLY IN CLIENT CONTRACTS].

Milestone payments on fixed-scope projects

Fixed-scope projects are billed against agreed milestones. Payment for a milestone that has been completed and delivered is non-refundable, since it reflects work already performed. If a project is cancelled before a milestone is reached, any payment made in advance for that milestone is [REFUND TREATMENT TO BE CONFIRMED WITH LEGAL COUNSEL — typically pro-rated based on work completed, but the exact mechanism should be specified in the signed contract and reflected consistently here].

Dedicated team and staff augmentation billing

These engagement models bill monthly in advance. If an engagement is terminated partway through a billing month in accordance with the notice period specified in the contract, [REFUND OR PRO-RATION TREATMENT FOR THE UNUSED PORTION OF THE MONTH TO BE CONFIRMED WITH LEGAL COUNSEL AND STATED CONSISTENTLY IN CONTRACTS].

Dissatisfaction with delivered work

If you are dissatisfied with work delivered against an agreed scope, our first step is always to understand the specific gap between what was delivered and what was scoped, and to remedy it directly — through revision, correction, or additional work — rather than default to a refund conversation. Where a genuine failure to deliver against agreed scope is established, remedy terms are set out in the specific engagement contract. [THE PRECISE DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND REMEDY PROCESS SHOULD BE DRAFTED WITH LEGAL COUNSEL AND REFERENCED CONSISTENTLY HERE AND IN CLIENT CONTRACTS.]

Third-party costs

Amounts paid to third parties on your behalf or directly by you — domain registration, hosting fees, payment gateway charges, SMS or API usage costs — are governed by that third party's own refund policy, not this one, since Beacon Coders does not control those charges.

How to request a refund review

If you believe a refund is warranted under the terms of your specific signed contract, contact your project lead directly or write to info@beaconcoders.com with your contract reference and a description of the issue. We will review the request against your specific contract terms and respond within [TIMEFRAME TO BE CONFIRMED WITH LEGAL COUNSEL].

Governing terms

This general policy is superseded by any more specific refund or cancellation terms set out in your individual signed engagement contract, which takes precedence in the event of any conflict.
